VivaTech 2024 Recap: Quantum in the Spotlight, Viqthor at the Heart of Innovation
From May 22 to 25, 2024, we had the privilege of attending the 8th edition of Viva Technology, Europe’s largest event dedicated to tech and innovation. This year’s record-breaking edition welcomed over 165,000 visitors from 160 countries, showcased dozens of tech themes, and radiated an incredible energy around the major transformations ahead. And once again, quantum technology took center stage.
Viqthor in the Quantum Village
Our team was present in the Quantum Village, a space fully dedicated to quantum technologies, their applications, and their future. It was a vibrant, high-energy area where startups, research labs, corporates, and investors gathered to discuss what’s shaping the next computing revolution.
We showcased our RF, microwave, and photonic modules—key components for controlling and interfacing qubits. These demonstrators drew strong interest and confirmed Viqthor’s vital role in the quantum enabling technologies value chain.
Our expertise in miniaturization, rugged design, and advanced integration was recognized and appreciated by visitors from around the world.
Women in Quantum: Viqthor Takes the Stage
We were especially proud to see one of our team members take part in the Women in Quantum panel hosted at VivaTech. This inspiring initiative aimed to highlight female voices shaping the future of quantum tech—an industry still perceived as overwhelmingly male-dominated.
During the panel, our colleague shared her journey as an RF engineer working in quantum technologies, along with her vision for a more inclusive and collaborative tech future. The conversation was rich and motivating, especially for young talents—women and other underrepresented groups—considering a career in deep tech.
At Viqthor, we firmly believe that diversity drives innovation. This participation reflects our commitment to supporting talent from all backgrounds and creating space for them to thrive in cutting-edge technology fields.
AI, Sustainability, and Sovereignty: Cross-Cutting Themes
Beyond our own technology, VivaTech 2024 emphasized several major pillars shaping today’s tech landscape:
- Artificial Intelligence, which dominated discussions around regulation (like the EU AI Act), ethics, and digital sovereignty.
- Sustainability, with strong focus on Net Zero solutions, energy-efficient technologies, and the role of tech in climate transition.
- Smart mobility and connected infrastructure, closely aligned with our work in embedded electronics and high-precision systems.
We attended engaging panels on topics like fighting disinformation in the age of generative AI, how deeptech is enabling European sovereignty, and quantum technologies in critical ecosystems. These discussions confirmed what we already see in our field: quantum is no longer a niche—it’s central to tomorrow’s global strategies.
A Strategic Presence for Viqthor
Being at VivaTech means more than just showing up. It’s an opportunity to:

VivaTech was just one step. The months ahead promise more growth: further development of our modules, new industrial partnerships, and strengthened positioning in photonics and microwave tech applied to quantum systems.
